The first time we met Kirsty and Sam was at the Beverley Minster Wedding Fayre on a really cold day. They are a wonderful couple and both of us felt really comfy since the beginning. They both love horses and Sam is an Equine Coach in Beverley. Their wedding was held at the elegant and beautiful Dunedin Country House on a nice, warm July day, so they had sunlight all day long in a great location.
The night before the wedding, Kirsty and her bridemaids stayed over in Dunedin House's cool and luxurious annexe "38". Sam and his bestman got ready in the beautiful suite called "The Stable" in the Dunedin House main building.
It was such an emotional moment when Kirsty's dad Paul saw her dressed as a bride... He was really moved and proud. She was gorgeous!
Seriously??!
Can you tell that Sam was really nervous at this point?!! His brother and his bestman (and me too) tried to make him feel less nervous...But it was hard indeed!
Sam was obviously very moved!!! We love these two photos taken by Federica, they tell so much. One of the advantages of having two photographers on the day is that you can have photos of both the bride and groom's reactions when they see each other for the first time.
Kirsty was letting Sam know who is the boss!!! Outside they had a lovely surprise! As with every wedding, when there's a surprise, we are among the very few to know about it in advance.
A perfect heart at the Dunedin House's courtyard! It took only 5 minutes for them to make it! We would say they are professional heart makers!!!
Kirsty and Sam had a Pre Wedding Shootwith us at BeverleyWestwooda couple of months before their wedding and they also chose to have a personalised guest book prepared with the photos taken during that photo session. The personalised guest book is actually one of our bestsellers as most of the couples want to have it for their wedding day.
As we said, the weather was lovely and we had daylight till very late. So after the romantic first dance and some of the crazy ones, Sam and Kirsty had a moment for themselves enjoying a beautiful sunset with their drinks before carrying on with the evening party.
If you would like to see other photos we took, take a look at the HOME page for a mix of photos or visit the Weddings page to see other full weddings. However, the best way to show and appreciate the photos is through one of our amazing Albums. Come to see them in person taking advantage of the V.I.P.free consultation where you will receive important info and advice for your wedding photography and you will take home with a very personalised quote tailored to your desires and budget.
Some info about Dunedin Country House
Built around 1841, Dunedin House is styled in late Georgian with early Victorian influence. This beautiful building was once owned by a grain merchant who travelled around the world and fell in love with the Scottish settlement of Dunedin in New Zealand.
Returned to his homeland he renamed the house "Dunedin" (formerly The Terrace House) and installed the “Italian” style (we are particularly happy for this :)!) balcony also inspired from his travels. It is said that many of the old trees within the grounds were brought from far afield!
During the year Dunedin has had many owners and occupiers. Most recently, the local village Doctor resided from 1924-1981. Dr Cripps lived at Dunedin with his family and also ran the local Doctors surgery from the stable block. Many people from the village still refer to the House as the 'Doctors'.
Helen & Simon St Quinton purchased Dunedin House in 2012 and have lovingly restored & renovated the building to its original beauty, so now many couples can enjoy their most important day at this elegant wedding venue.
The Dunedin Country House is situated in the little village of Patrington, pretty close to the east coast. You can find Dunudin Country House at the address: 40 Westgate, Patrington, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU12 0NB
